In 1949, Whitney Marchand built Marchand’s Floor Shop in Gonzales, Louisiana. It has evolved and grown over the years to now encompass four departments. Flooring, Hardware, and Kitchen & Bath operate as Marchand’s Interior and Hardware in the original location. Framing is now housed in a new location across the street at the Framing & Décor Gallery.
Whitney’s vision of providing great customer service while maintaining a family atmosphere remains at the heart of the business. In keeping the tradition, Whitney's son, Brian, along with his children Brentley, Tessa, and Whitnee have stepped in and continue to manage the business under Brian.

After graduating from East Ascension in 2003 and Southeastern in 2007, Brentley decided the family business is where he would remain. For himself and his wife Paige, it's all about watching their kids grow up. Cale, Broden, and Hollyn keep them busy at ballparks and dance competitions. Brentley is active with the Business Network of Ascension, Ascension Select Baseball, St. Mark's Catholic Church, St. Theresa School, Sandy Bayou Sportsman Club, and is a 2024 Baron for the American Cancer Society. "I am proud to be born and raised in Ascension Parish, and I love building relationships in our growing community".
Tessa Mire
Office Manager
Tessa grew up in the family business and joined the staff full time in 2006 after earning degrees in Business Management and Accounting. She is our “behind the scenes” office manager and a self-proclaimed problem solver. Away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Neal, and 3 daughters, Brynne, Molly, and Kenzie. A good cup of coffee, dark chocolate and standup comedy bits are just a few of her favorite things.
Whitnee Gremillion
Project Manager & Interior Design
Whitnee was born and raised in Gonzales and attended LSU for Interior Design. She specializes in making your new construction and remodel dreams come alive. She is also a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Whitnee loves spending time with her husband and two sons Austen and Wesley. When they aren't home you can find them at the baseball field.
Christy Martinez
Senior Framing Specialist
>Christy has been in the custom picture framing industry for 20 + years and with Marchand's for 19 + years and is a member of the Professional Picture Framer's Association. She has a marketing degree from Southeastern Louisiana University that she utilizes as a member of our marketing team. Christy loves spending time with her daughter Saige and being her biggest fan at all of her extra curricular activities that includes playing music (drums, guitar, piano), dance and golf. She enjoys spending time with her husband Chase either in the boat fishing or in the woods hunting. Family is everything to Christy so the rest of her time is spent with her parents, brothers and her in-laws along with the rest of her family and friends. Every now and then she still plays a little softball for alumni tourneys and fundraisers.
Mark Burton
Flooring Project Manager
Mark has been in the flooring industry for over 40 years. When he decided to close Burton’s Flooring in St. Amant, he teamed with Marchand’s. Mark is now overseeing projects in homes that he installed several years ago while selling and installing for himself. When Mark uses his vacation, you can bet he is heading to a car show. He only drives Dodges, and the Mopar man will show you a picture of his muscle car if you ask pretty please.
John Dean
Senior Estimator
John has a Master's degree and has taught Residential Construction, Residential Estimating, Materials, and Methods in the LSU Department of Construction Management, and is currently the Construction and Materials Training Program Manager for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. This gives him the insight and ability to assist with the largest of projects, and his 30+ years in the flooring business makes him the perfect fit to look over your new set of plans.
Waldon Julien
Sales & Craftsman
Waldon has been with Marchands for over 20 years, He has been doing woodwork for 45 plus years. He has three sons Waldon Jr, Wade and Donovan along with six grandkids. He enjoys his co workers and calls the frame shop "Paradise"
Hunter Bertrand
Hardware Manager
Hunter began working with Marchand’s as a student worker while attending St. Amant High School. He has an Associate's Degree in General Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Hunter and his wife Cassie have one girl, Savannah. He enjoys being outdoors, watching/playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Jeanie Blalock
Purchasing & Receiving
Jeanie graduated from St. Amant High School & attended Southeastern for Interior Design. She shifted gears into accounting and now is over Purchasing & Receiving. Her and her husband, Jamie, have four kids and love spending time together, whether it’s having a crawfish boil, watching LSU/football, and traveling.
Terry Blankenship
Warehouse Manager
Terry worked at the local sausage plant for 14 years, and then decided to start his own painting business. After hurricane Gustav in 2008, he spent a few weeks painting at Brian’s home that had encountered storm damage. Terry was such a good worker, and a great guy, Brian couldn’t let him go. Terry is now the warehouse manager and oversees all of its operations. He resides in French Settlement where he enjoys cooking up whatever his garden grows.
Brittany Wells
Gallery Sales & Social Media
Brittany has a background in photography, digital editing, office management and decorating. Brittany was able to stay home with her kids for 11 years to pursue her Photography business. She decided to go back to work part time and enjoys the creative freedom she has. Her first priority is her husband Jarrett and her kids Alivia & Nathan. In her free time she loves to travel, make memories with her family and be in the outdoors.
Jennifer Owens
Flooring & Showroom Sales
Jennifer was born and raised in Ponchatoula the Strawberry Capital. She has 4 kids and has been with her biggest encourager and love of her life Michael for 10 years. She has worked in the flooring industry for 9 years, and it has become a passion for her. Jennifer is a true Louisiana girl if she is not hunting in the winter, she is fishing in the summer. She enjoys LSU sports and hanging out with friends and family.
Samantha Carter
Flooring & Showroom Sales
Samantha was born and raised in Shreveport, LA and moved to Donaldsonville in 2023 to be with her husband. She is currently enrolled at LSU for construction management and has her bachelors in business management and administration from LSUS. In her free time she can be found caring for her many animals, working in her garden, or cooking something yummy! Samantha aspires to be a project manager and eventually become a residential home builder.
Lucy Gautreaux
Lead Cashier
Lucy has been with Marchands since 2022, grew up in the town of Brittany where she currently resides. She has been married to her husband Gordon for 51 years. Lucy has more fabric than any person should have, she loves to sew and make quilts.
Jeremy Dorsey
Delivery & Warehouse Associate
Jeremy has been employed with Marchands since Spring of 2023, He graduated from Tara High in 1999. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, reading and spending time with his family. He has one daughter who is currently attending Southeastern.
Aimee Schlif
Framing Specialist
God has blessed me and my husband Bill with 2 very active, wonderful boys! Brice who is 17,he is a senior at St. Amant High school and Peyton who just made 10 on Halloween, and he attends St Amant Primary in the 4th grade! Family is everything to me! I have lived in Ascension Parish close to 20 years now and LOVE it! I am a member of the Women's Real Estate Investors Network for 3 years now. I am also a licensed P&C insurance agent but my passion is really all things home! I love remodeling and bringing old things back to life. I also love home decor'. I am really enjoying my job at Marchand's Frame & Decor shop because I get to do all of the things that I am passionate about!
Steven Murphy
Hardware sales and Merchandising
Steven was born and raised in Illinois on a farm and moved to Louisiana 25 years ago. His first job was in the hardware industry and he loved it. Steven went to school and became a paramedic for 40 years and once he retired he found himself back in the hardware business where it all started.
David Collins
Delivery & Warehouse Specialist
David grew up in Gonzales where he currently resides; he loves Gonzales and the family environment. He enjoys reading, listening to music, watching documentaries and spending time with his son.
Kenneth Schmit
Project Manager
Kenneth was raised in Slidell and found himself in Gonzales 2 years ago. His family resides in Gonzales and he wanted to be closet to them. Kenneth enjoys all things Fishing but mainly inshore salt water fishing. In his free time if he is not fishing, he can be found cycling or running.
